Rodney Lupaschuk July 6, 1959- October 10, 2024
Rodney Carl Lupaschuk was born on July 6, 1959. He was the second of five children born to parents Carl and Shirley. (Glen, Rod, Roxanne, Kim and Lori) Rod was raised on a farm in the Andrew area.
Rod was predeceased by his dad Carl (1999) Mom Shirley (2024) sister Roxanne (1979) Brother-in-law Ab (2020) Cousin Donnie (1976) and Dog Barley (2024)
Rods worked as a pipefitter for his entire working career. This was a trade he took pride in and was a master at his craft. He worked in Alberta, BC and for a time in Ontario. Rod gained a reputation of being smart, capable and hardworking.
Rod took pride in having a hand in our mom’s caregiving in her later years. He took the job of blood pressure checks, medication handouts and eye drop administration very seriously. During Covid he even permed and cut Mom’s hair.
Rod was a charmer. He led a unique and sometimes checkered life. He was predictably unpredictable. He was SO funny and boy could he make us laugh. Rod was a keen observer of people and their idiosyncrasies’. His recall of past events and people was nothing short of amazing. He could hold conversations on just about any topic.
Rod will be remembered for his love of family, intelligent mind, quick wit, wonderful sense of humor and his excellent story telling.
We love you Rod and will miss you greatly. May you Rest in Peace Brother.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Royal Alexander and University hospital for their excellent care.
A private service has already been held. For those who wish a donation to the Edmonton Mustard Seed can be made in Rod’s honor.
