It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Larry Lee Schmidt on August 4th 2024 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
At the time of his passing he did not leave this world alone as he was surrounded by the love of family connected in circle with prayers, song and smudge. Larry was predeceased by his Father Randy Schmidt, and survived by his Mother Virgine (Virginia) Hannaford. He leaves behind his sons; Randy, Larry, Ewald and Corey.
He is also survived by his three older siblings, two older brothers and one sister. His oldest Brother, Leon Gladue Sr. (Jeannie) Nephew- Leon Jr. (Chrissy) Nieces- Justice & Serenity. Brother Shane Gladue (Kim) Nephew- Sheldon, Nieces- Sheridan, Naomi & Kaitlin. As well as his sister Sherri Kellock (Mike) Nephew- Alexander and Nieces- Caylee & Teagan, including numerous relatives such as Aunts, Cousins and countless Friends that are left broken hearted with his passing.
Larry lived his life with a fearless outlook. Larry had a great sense of humor to deal with the struggles of life. He smiled back at the world and laughed during times of challenges when others would back down. He took pride in the way he carried himself and was extremely protective and loyal of those he loved within his circle of close family and friends.
His absence from our lives leaves us both with a great sense of loss and appreciation for those of us lucky enough to have shared in his life.
Life is a memory. Rest in peace Larry, knowing that your memory will continue to make our hearts smile forever…
