With heavy hearts, the family of Gary Helgason announce his passing on July 24th, 2024.
Gary’s life was short but he lived it to the fullest. His family was at the centre of his soul, his friends were his “brothers”
and golf was his life’s passion.
Born and raised in Edmonton, Gary’s earlier years were spent playing golf, hockey & baseball. Summers were spent on
a lake with a fishing rod in his hand and the fall would find him out in the bush hunting with mom & dad. As he reached the
end of his teenage years, golf became Gary’s main focus. He met his closest friends on the golf course who grew to be
and remained a very important part of his life.
Left to mourn his loss are his “girls” Fuzzy & Georgie, mom Janet Helgason, dad Gary Helgason JR,
brother James Musat, sisters Jody (Brian) Longmire & Jackie Gratrix (Mike Grover), grandpa Gary
Helgason Sr of Kindersley, SK, Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins
Predeceased by Grandma Shirley Helgason, Grandparents Bill & Betty McKenzie of Kindersley, SK.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held later in August.
