Obituary for
Ernest J. Lutz
On September 25, 2024 Ernest Lutz passed away at the age of 85. Ernie wore many titles: husband, father, grandfather, hunter, fisher, snowmobiler, and gardener.
Ernest is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gertrude Lutz, and his four children: Edwina Staples (Rob), Ramona Shewchuk (Gary), Glenn Lutz (Gina), and Blair Lutz (Chere). He is also survived by grandchildren Edison Lutz and Gabriella Lutz.
Ernest is also survived by siblings Winnie Longland of Campbell River, BC, Barbara Parkin of Courtenay, BC, Phillip Lutz of Campbell River, BC, and Wilfred Lutz of Edmonton, AB.
He was predeceased by both his parents Valentine Lutz of Tomahawk, AB, and Leona Pezzot (Tony) of Courtenay, BC, and older brother Walter Lutz of Campbell River, BC.
We will honour him for the man he was, in good times and bad. He will be missed but he will not be forgotten.
Honouring Ernest’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
