Alison died peacefully on September 13, 2024, aged 92 years, in Edmonton.
She leaves her nephew, Colin Dinwoodie; sister-in-law, Sheila Dinwoodie; nephew, Niall; and niece, Catriona Farnsworth and their families in Scotland and England.
During her 50 years in Edmonton, she worked in biochemical research at the University of Alberta. Her many interests included active participation in and contributions to the Alberta Wilderness Association, the Alpine Club of Canada, North West Voyagers Club, Alberta Stewards Association, Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society, World Wildlife Fund, Alberta Native Plant Council Society, Ecojustice, Coyote Lake Lodge, Glasgow University Mountaineering Club, and other organizations concerned with the
environment and natural resources. A scholarship in her name has been established at the University of Alberta.
Her friends wish to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr Chiu and the staff of the Good Samaritan Society Dr Gerald Zetter Care Centre for their kind and compassionate care
in her later days. A Celebration of Life will be held later this fall.
