Born in Galway, Ireland on May 10, 1938, Timothy Francis Joyce of Entwistle passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre at the age of 85 years.
Tim married Margaret Ethel Smith in England on February 9, 1957. Tim and Margaret had two sons, Peter and Steven who survive him along with their families. Tim was a Master Plasterer, receiving his certificate for Plaster Work from Norwich Art Centre. In 1989 Tim and Margaret immigrated to Canada and took up residence in the Rocky Rapids area. Tim’s first major project in Canada was the restoration of the Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton where he redid the molding and trim, and also did restoration work at Banff Springs Hotel. Tim and his company, Classic Harmony Design, built many homes and shops in the area over the 30 years he was in business. The interior of St. Anthony’s Church is also his beautiful work. Tim was very well respected as a business man and friend to many in the area and will be sorely missed.
Tim will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Peter (Trish) and Steven (Sue); grandchildren, Phillipa (Dave), Jonathon (Tara), Alex and Charlotte; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Fionn. He is also survived by his brothers, Paddy and John D (Dora) and sister-in-law, Sheila (Peter), as well as by special friends and other extended family.
Tim was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret; brothers, Martin and Michael; sister, Eileen and sister-in-law, Daphne.
For those who wish to pay their respects, Visitation will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 4708 50 Avenue, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Celebrant, Father Felix Devasia. Interment will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Drayton Valley, Alberta on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
