Our Mother…Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and true friend. Our Mother took her role as a homemaker as other picked up a career. She loved the house our Father built her with his own hands. She loved flowers, visiting, tea time, and entertaining anyone that walked through the back door as there was always a pot of soup simmering on the stove and bowls to fill.
After her own children went off to school, she started a day home as Mom loved babies and children and treated every child like they were her own.
She enjoyed travelling with family and would often take trips back to Holland to visit her siblings and extended family. Mom loved to bicycle both in Holland and in Canada with her grandchildren. She loved playing cards, especially crib. Our Mother was a professional “visitor”, as long as there was tea with a goodie was served with the visit. Her zest for life, her sweet smile and very welcoming heart, along with her loving nature will leave a void in each life she touched.
You are the best mom! We were blessed to have had you, so rest now, we are pretty sure you’re already laying out Dad’s clothes for the day.
Elizabeth’s family would like to thank the Doctors, nurses and staff at the Drayton Valley Long Term Care Unit for their compassion and care they showed to Elizabeth during her stay.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in Elizabeth’s name can be made to Cause for Critters, 5517 53 Ave, Drayton Valley, AB T0E 1Z0.
