Dennis Carl Martin Obituary
Dennis Carl Martin
October 18, 1947 – January 7, 2024
It is with sorrowful hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Dennis Carl Martin on Sunday, January 7, 2024 in Red Deer Regional Hospital, at the age of 76 years.
Dennis will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Debra; children David, Dana, and Dawn (Darren); grandchildren, Taylor, Jordon, Patience, and Trace; and brother-in-law, Dino Wylie.
Dennis was predeceased by parents, Tom and Ingrid; and sister, Lynne Martin.
Dennis was a dedicated individual whose life’s journey encompassed various roles and accomplishments. He began his path to success as a proud graduate of Breton High School and SAIT’s agricultural mechanics program, where he honed his skills and expertise. Dennis then embarked on a remarkable 17-year journey with Mobile Oil, where he made significant contributions to the company. However, it was his unwavering passion for agriculture that truly defined Dennis’s life. He wholeheartedly embraced the life of a farmer, dedicating the remainder of his working career to nurturing the land and cultivating its bounties. His commitment to the farming community was a true testament to the heart of a farmer. Beyond the farm, Dennis’s commitment to community was evident in his role as the President of Lindale Hall Board. Through his leadership, he made a lasting impact on local gatherings and events, fostering a sense of togetherness and camaraderie. Dennis’s dedication to mentoring and shaping the next generation was also evident through his involvement in 4-H, where he served as a beacon of guidance and inspiration. Dennis will be remembered as a dedicated individual who left an indelible mark on the lives of those he encountered. His unwavering commitment to his work, community, and the next generation serves as a testament to his character and values. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Dennis’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital and the Drayton Valley Hospital and Care Centre for the compassionate care shown to Dennis during his stay. Also, to the support of family and friends during this difficult time.
For those who so desire, memorial contributions in Dennis’s name may be made directly to Camp He Ho Ha.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lindale Hall .
