Angela “Angie” Lorraine McGinnis Obituary
Angela (Angie) Lorraine McGinnis, aged 54, passed away peacefully in Red Deer on April 7, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her daughter (Taylor), son (Liam), mother (Judy) and stepfather (Mike).
Angie was born on May 10, 1969, in Lindsay Ontario, and moved to Alberta in 1974. She graduated from Frank Maddock High School in Drayton Valley in 1988 and attended Red Deer College in 1989. Angie was an avid writer and reader. She loved taking care of her kid sister and brother (Jenna and Adam) and always welcomed their friends in her home for movie nights and sleepovers. That same hospitality and kindness continued with the friends of Liam and Taylor whom Angie loved and cared for. She was ever generous with her time and her love.
Angie is survived by her children (Liam and Taylor McGinnis) parents (Judy and Mike Ferrey), Sister (Jenna Ferrey), brother and sister-in-law (Adam and Sarah Ferrey), nephews (Clark and Frasier Ferrey) and her loving dog (Ozzy) and two cats (Sam and Willow). She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Angie’s life will be held at the CETC in Drayton Valley, on April 23 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Angela McGinnis Fund through the Drayton Valley Community Foundation.
