Terry died at home with his loving wife Anne by his side on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
Born in Edmonton, AB, on July 28, 1942, Terry is survived by his beloved family, son David (Kyoko), daughter Erica (Scott) and three grandchildren, Riku, Maggie and Kai.
Terry graduated from U of A with an MD degree in 1965, then completed post-graduate training at McGill University in neurosurgery. He practiced in Calgary at the Foothills Medical Centre and Alberta Children’s Hospital, retiring in 2012. He was Chief of Staff – Surgical at the Alberta Children’s Hospital from 1985 to 1993. Terry enjoyed teaching at the U of C Medical School for 39 years and in 2012, was appointed Professor Emeritus in Neuroscience at the Cumming School of Medicine.
In 1978, Terry was privileged to be initiated as an honourary member of the Blood Band of the Blackfoot Indian Confederacy.
A Celebration of Terry’s Life will be held at a later date.
