Clara Barbara Vossler of Brooks, beloved wife of the late Emil Vossler, passed away in Brooks on Saturday, September 23rd, 2023 at the age of 102 years. Clara was born in St. Boswell, Saskatchewan on June 12th, 1921 to Carl and Barbara Deg and grew up on the family farm with her 2 brothers and 6 sisters. She moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1944 and worked at Medalta Potteries, where she met her future husband, Emil Vossler. They were married on December 20th, 1947 in Medicine Hat. Clara and Emil farmed in the Tilley area until 1959, then operated a service station north of Tilley from 1959 until 1963, when they moved to Brooks. Clara always had a large garden and a yard full of flowers. Weekends would be spent fishing and camping. Clara and Emil traveled across Canada and much of the United States, visiting and experiencing many historic sites along the way. They moved into the Newbrook Lodge in 2005, where they lived together until Emil’s passing in 2008. Clara continued to live at the Newbrook Lodge until her passing. She was predeceased by her husband Emil; parents, Carl and Barbara; siblings, Carl, John, Lily, Hilda, Dorothy, Mary and Mabel and daughter-in-law Joyce. Clara is survived by her son Dale, grandson Chris Vossler and his wife Abigail; grandchildren, Caleb, Lilah, Faith and Wesley and numerous other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church. Pastor Maggie Theiss officiating. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery.
