It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Patrick Todd. Brian was born on November 24th, 1941 at St. Paul’s hospital in Vancouver. He was predeceased by his parents Robert Glynn and May Todd and his five brothers, Glynn, Ray, Grattan, Roger and Ron. Also, his childhood friends Ron and Keith. Brian leaves behind his wife of 58 years Diane. She was his best friend and the love of his life since they met as teenagers. Diane was there by his side holding his hand right up until he passed. Brian will be greatly missed by his son Darren, daughter Colleen (Walt) and his two precious grandchildren Shailey and Rylan, who affectionately called him Gagoo. Brian is also remembered by his sister Glynda (Ken) as well as many other friends and family.
Brian grew up in Vancouver and attended Gladstone and King Edward High schools. He was a Salesman and worked for Woodwards in Vancouver and New Westminster. Brian was also a lease consultant for many years and worked for many different companies including Jim Pattison. He was a hard-working man and worked up until he retired from Sears in Burnaby.
Brian will be remembered for his great sense of humour and being a very caring and compassionate man. He loved his family very much and his final wish was for them to all be with him when he decided he was ready to go. Brian also loved his pets and talked about looking forward to being reunited so they can cross the rainbow bridge together.
The family would like to commend all the Nurses and Doctors at Royal Columbian and Eagle Ridge hospitals where Brian will be remembered as George Clooney ( his preferred name ). Special thanks to the Palliative care team at Eagle Ridge Hospital and especially his nurse Leigh, in the MCU, who went out of her way to provide excellent care and support to Brian and his family.
At Brian’s request there will be no memorial service. The family’s request is that you honor his memory by telling a corny Dad joke to someone you love.
