Brian Jacob Brant
August 10, 1959 – May 8, 2023
Peacefully, with his children close by, Brian, passed away at Hamilton General Hospital on May 8, 2023 at the age of 63. A dedicated and loving father to Katera (Dale) Marsden, Katrina (Ryan) Brant and Brian Brant Jr. He is also survived by three sisters, Dale (Dave) Szczesniak, Marlene (Todd) Watson, Carolyn Brant and brother, Jody Brant. Brian’s greatest pride was being an adoring grandfather to Brooks, Claire, Hannah and Jack. He will be dearly missed by many aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by parents Carol June (Montour) & Clayb Brant, beloved uncle Sid Brant, cousin Patrick Nahmabin and niece Kelly Szczesniak.
Brian had a long career as a Process Operator at Nova Chemicals in Sarnia, ON and at CNRL in Fort McMurray, AB. Often lovingly referred to as “Jake”, he was the life of the party and made everyone laugh. He loved gardening, entertaining and cooking. He never let anyone leave his house without a full belly and fond memories. He will be remembered for his larger-than-life personality, quick wit and infectious laugh.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made by donation to the Mark Preece Family House in Hamilton, which allowed his children to remain close by while he was in the hospital or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 164 in Hagersville of which Brian was a member.
Funeral Service will be held at Hyde & Mott Chapel of R.H.B. Anderson Funeral Homes, 60 Main St. S., Hagersville on Saturday May 13, 2023 at 2 pm.
Brian’s children would also like to express a deep thanks to the medical team at West Haldimand General Hospital and Hamilton General hospital for their care and support and the Mark Preece Family House for providing warmth and comfort during an extremely difficult time. The kindness of staff and volunteers will not soon be forgotten.
