It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hélène Blanche Chartrand (née Leduc) from Gatineau. Hélène will be remembered by her devoted husband Raymond, her goddaughter Cathy, her siblings Raymond (Claudette), Maurice (Anna), Suzanne (Lionel), Rhéal (Gisèle), Jean-Paul (Carol), Rose-Marie (Brian), Victor (Carmen), Diane, Carole (Roy), Marcel (Louise), Joanne (Beth), Michel (Nicole), Bernard (Diane), Jocelyne (Manuel), Louis (Lorraine) Mario (Monique) and André (Stephanie). Also sisters in law Elaine and Diane (Richard) and brother in law Gerry (Claire), many nephews, nieces, and dear friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Paul Leduc and Rose (Larocque), her oldest sister Marie-Jeanne and her youngest brother Charles.
Hélène lived a life of selflessness, always putting the needs of others before her own. In her younger years she studied hairdressing which she continued throughout her life. Family and friends would pop by the house for a haircut and her company. Hélène later had a second career working for the federal government with Indian and Northern Affairs, where she worked for many years and made lasting memories playing and refereeing casual games of hockey with her coworkers.
Hélène was also a talented artist who spent her free time painting landscapes and making beautiful porcelain dolls.
Hélène will always be remembered for her caring, loving, and loyal nature. Her unwavering devotion to her family and friends inspired those around her and left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Despite the pain of her loss, we take comfort in the memories she has left behind and the love she shared with all those around her.
The void left by her passing will be felt deeply, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
