Gardner, Beverley Anne – Beverley peacefully passed away May 10, 2023 at Niagara General Hospital. Bev is survived by her two sons Jeff (Anita) and Craig (Jennifer), her grandchildren Jasmine, Jaden, Jackson and Natalie, her sisters Joan and Lorraine and her brother Reg.
Beverley has been a fighter all her life. She battled and fought for women’s rights throughout her career as an educator and leader in the profession, ending her career as a principal and a former president and executive within FWTAO, OTF and CTF. Her efforts, along with her colleagues, laid the groundwork for ETFO and to ensure that women always maintained a strong voice within that newly created organization which continues today more than 25 years later. She was an inspiration and a mentor to many of those worked with her which I am sure has been paid forward a thousand fold.
She was also a fighter when it came to her health. She fought many battles, too many to detail here but that many of you are well aware of. In the end the cumulative impact was too much.
Thankfully during this time she was able to watch her sons and their families grow and thrive, stay connected with her siblings and their families and spent her time continuing to champion many causes, watch her beloved Blue Jays and Raptors, dote over her canine companion Hope, play bridge, travel when she could, and read everything she could get her hands on.
Although I am biased, she was one of the smartest people I’ve ever met and while her body had its issues, her mind was sharp to the end. Both body and mind are at peace now. Rest easy mom.
Lots of love,
Jeff and Craig
