Elizabeth Margaret (Betty) Dunn (nee Denny),
passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
Betty had just celebrated her 90th birthday.
She was born on Christmas day to her parents, Alvin and Barbara Denny. She grew up in Fergus, with her four siblings; Phyllis, Earldine, Jim and Dale. Betty met the love of her life, our Dad, the late Fred Dunn (2020) when she was just fourteen. Together they raised their six children in Acton; Bryan (Enid) Dunn, Johanne (Gary) Lyon, Cathy (Harold) Andrews, Johnette (Dan) Dunn-Simms, David (Gail) Dunn, and Tammy (Mark) Johnson. They welcomed, loved and celebrated their many
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty loved her family, friends, gardening, knitting, traveling, and music. She was always heard humming. She had a wonderful giggle, and
Fred always knew how to make her laugh.
She was a proud employee of Imperial Tobacco for 38 years. Once retired she spent her time reading to the school kids around the corner and feeding Acton’s wildlife.
Many times she would joke
“I don’t know how I had time to work”
Betty is remembered by her family, sisters, nieces and nephews,
as a strong, loving and caring woman.
She is now rejoicing in the arms of her beloved Freddie and their infant son.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 197 Acton, 15 Wright Avenue, Acton on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 11 – 12. Memorial service to follow at 12 noon
Interment at Fairview Cemetery.
