Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of Bernard John Deas announces his passing, which occurred on Friday, April 21, 2023. Born in Moncton, NB, on June 28, 1947, he was a son of the late Bernard and Ethel (Roper) Deas. Bernard was an avid coin and stamp collector. He enjoyed old cars and old movies, but especially loved to laugh with his friends and family.
Bernard is survived by his children Sherry Chiasson, Tina Chappel, John Deas and Robert Deas; siblings Alice Holmer, George Deas (Margaret), Ruth Stuart (Don), Robert Deas, and Nancy-Lea Legge (Bruce); grandchildren Patricia, Kevin, Matthew, Tara, Jessica, Jacob, Dylan, Deanna, John Jr., Michael, Jamie, Cody and Kyla ; as well as 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents, Bernard was predeceased by his common-law wife Ann Roberts, son Jamie Colpitts, and brother-in-law Bruce Holmer.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (646-2424). Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023, from 12:00 – 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 2:00 PM. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Addictions Canada.
