Beatrice Jensen, age 110, of New Waterford, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2023 at Maple Hill Manor.
Born in Belleoram Newfoundland on Nov.3, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Capt. William George and Elizabeth (Beck) Kearley.
Beatrice was a special lady who loved her family and always put others before herself; especially her grandkids in their childhood years and beyond. Her heart was in her home and she kept it immaculate. Beatrice was an avid piano player who loved playing festive tunes during Christmas. In younger years, she also enjoyed playing Cribbage and 45’s with her husband, Abe and their group of friends.
Surviving are daughter, Elizabeth ‘Betty’ ( Bobby – deceased) Ross, New Wateford; son, Bud (Doris) Jensen, Pickering, ON; grandchildren, Lynn (Kenny), Rob (Ashley), Ian (Jolene), all of New Waterford, Matthew (Angela), Leslie, both of ON; great-grandchildren, Ross, Rebecca, Katie, Ryley, Joshua, Matthew, Kearley, Ryker, Sarah, Paige, Ella, Hayden, Brysen; great-great-grandchildren, Easton, Olivia, and Allie; many nieces and nephews.
Beatrice was predeceased by her husband Abraham Lewis ‘Abe’ Jensen; brothers, Horatio and William; sister, Frances.
A private funeral service will be held in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, New Waterford, with Rev. Myrna MacMullin officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home with burial in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of choice.
