It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom on Tuesday March 14, 2023, at Willett Hospital, Paris ON at the age of 95. Daughter of the late Charles and Annie Peacock. Beloved wife of the late Vern Kernaghan. Loving mother of Shaun (Karen) and Kelly. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters; Bernice, Evelyn, Redford, Adam, and Bruce. Also predeceased by her niece Molly. Remembered by her nieces Lynda and Lois. Barb loved raising a family in Parry Sound and enjoyed the Georgian Bay lifestyle. In her later years, she took many trips back to Parry Sound to have lunch with Harvey Bond and visit with Helen Armitage. At the age of 72, she created a new life for herself in Brantford volunteering at the Sanderson Centre, Sydenham-Heritage United Church, and the VON. Barb was an avid Blue Jays fan and rarely missed a game. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and bowling. Special gratitude to Rina Jardine and staff at Parkview Retirement Home in Brantford. Special thanks to all the staff on the 2nd floor of the Willett Hospital for their care and support. She was much loved and will be missed by many. Cremation arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St., Parry Sound). If desired, donations to the OSPCA or the Brant Community Health Care Foundation.
