DeCOENSEL, Anthony “Tony” – With all our love the family of Anthony DeCoensel, Tony the Tiger, announce his passing on March 24, 2023 at St. Joesph’s Hospital, Hamilton. Best friend and devoted husband to Donna for over 60 years. Tony will be deeply missed by his children Karen and husband Dave, Doug and his sweetheart Heather. Proud Gramps to Dondrea and Garrett, Livia and Brett, Great Gramps to Emersyn and Bryce. Son of Alfons (1967)and Magdalena DeCoensel (1995). Dear brother to Simone Erauw (2001), Vicki DeBackere (2015). Uncle Tony to many nieces and nephews. Tony was a man of many talents. What he lacked in formal education he made up in ingenuity, grit and hard work. A successful trout farmer by trade, he designed many items to aid with his business. His love for remote airplanes led him to build and fly many different styles. He belonged to flying clubs and loved going out and flying his latest projects. His greatest joy was his GTO. He restored his car from the ground up. He and Donna frequently went to car shows and loved meeting new people and talk about things all cars. Tony the Tiger will be greatly missed by all who knew him. At Tony’s request cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Ferris Funeral Home, 214 Norfolk St. S., Simcoe (519-426-1314) If so desired, donations may be made in Tony’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be found.
So he put his arms around you and whispered ‘come with me’.
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
