The family of Annetta Munro is saddened to announce her passing at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth on Friday, January 27, 2023.
Predeceased by her husband Bruce, parents William and Myrtle [McLaughlin] Young, sisters Francis [Young] Murray and Irene Young, brothers Harold Young, Kenneth Young and John Young. Annetta was also predeceased by sisters-in-law and friends Sandra Young, Ellen Young, Catherine Munro-Fraser and Phyllis Munro as well as brother-in-law and friend Elmer “Al” Munro. Loving mother of Andy [Teresa] Munro and Tim [Valerie] Munro. Caring Nana to Bruce Munro, Melissa Hewitt, Megan Carter and Mitchell Munro. Adoring Great-Nana to Oakley, Everest, and Adeline. Annetta will be fondly remembered and missed by many nieces and nephews.
Annetta was born and raised in Stratford and married her best friend and love of her life Bruce Munro in 1956. Bruce and Annetta started their life in Stratford and their family in Sudbury, where Bruce was stationed with the OPP and Annetta worked at the Royal Bank of Canada. The family returned to Stratford in 1967 to be closer to Annetta’s parents where she later returned to work at the Royal Bank. She enjoyed volunteering at Beta Sigma Phi, Stratford Association for Community Living and the Sister Cities Committee through her and Bruce’s longtime affiliation with the Perth County Pipe Band, formerly the RCR Pipe Band.
She had many wonderful travel experiences with friends and family over the years both internationally and across Canada. With a passion for music, Annetta loved singing in choirs including Centennial and Parkview United Churches and the Stratford Concert Choir. Annetta was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed creating needlework pieces for herself and as cherished gifts.
Memorial service will be held at Parkview United Church, 470 Ontario Street, Stratford, Ontario, on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11:00 am following a private family interment at Avondale Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Annetta’s life at a visitation and luncheon following the service at Parkview United.
