Obituary of Mrs. Anne Pinnington
Anne Pinnington (nee Lynch) passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2023 after a brief struggle with cancer. She was days short of her 89th birthday and had just celebrated her 61st Wedding Anniversary.
Anne will be sadly missed by her husband, Paul Pinnington, her three children, Dan (Elizabeth), Jane (Eric) and Patricia (Gerry), her grandchildren Sarah, Annika, Genevieve, Jacqueline, Anthony, Caroline, Lia, Jonathan and Christopher and many other family members, friends and neighbours with whom she stayed in regular contact. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Ernest and Genevieve Lynch, and her sisters, Kay, Joan and Ginty. Her brother Bernie and sister Ruth will miss her deeply.
Anne, who was also known as Gaggy, was a kind and gentle person who loved dearly and never said a disparaging word about anyone. She cherished her role as Paul’s partner in life. She devoted herself to children, her own and numerous others, and was famous for her homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Following cremation, a funeral mass will be held at St Theresa’s Church, 2559 Kingston Road, in Scarborough at 11:00am on Monday, February 20, 2023, followed by a reception in the parish hall.
There will also be a memorial mass held in Ottawa at 11:00am on Monday, February 27, 2023 at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, 5338 Bank Street South. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
Interment will be a private family occasion held at a later date.
The Pinnington family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all those individuals who contributed so tirelessly to Anne’s care during her time of need.
