Our mom, grandmother, great grandmother Anne-Marie on July 3, 2023 arrived at “The Last Best Place”.
She was an adherent member of the Christian Church in the Home.
Anne Marie was the daughter of John Lavigne and Alvina Lavigne (Landry). She leaves behind her husband Gary Roode, her 2 children Judie MacLean and Scott MacLean both of Moncton; Step daughter Janet Smtih; her 5 grandchildren, Jeffrey Carter (Carolyn) of Grand Prairie, AB, Ashley Carter (Joel) of Salisbury, Jodie Lynn Hall (Ben) of Newquai, Cornwall Co of England, Cody Maclean (Rachel) of Saint John and Jessica MacLean of Saskatoon; step grandchildren Summer Smith and Sierra Smith both of Moncton; Also, 7 great grandchildren, Harlem, Boen and Nolen Carter; her special angel Ella, Nash and Myla Trenholm; Brooke MacLean.
Anne-Marie is also survived by 4 brothers John & Misi of Moncton, Peter & Chris of Niagara Falls, Tom & Connie of Moncton and Tony & Marina of Bathurst.
She attended South Bathurst School and graduated from Sacred Heart Academy’s last graduating class in 1960. She spent her professional life in financing first with Canada Permanent Trust in lending and retired as a financial advisor from Sun Life of Canada. Anne-Marie was proud to say she travelled and saw many corners of the world, also spending winters in Florida as a “Snow Bird”.
She would tell anyone who would listen about her adventures climbing Diamond Head in Honolulu, visiting Pearl Harbour, travelling the rough roads of East Africa and going in the bush on a bicycle taxi to mention a small number of her adventures.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (506-858-1995) on Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am. Reception to follow. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
