Stanley “Allan” MacKinnon – Port Hastings, Age 73 .
Allan “Uncle” passed away unexpectedly on April 17th, 2023 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish after a sudden illness.
Allan was born in Inverness to the late Stanley and Isabell (MacLean) MacKinnon. Allan attended high school in Judique and then attended school at CRVS where he took electrical and after graduating began his career at the Mill in Point Tupper.
Allan is survived by his sisters, Sharon (Dave) Pringle, Newtown; Heather Deschenes, Port Hastings; Hazel (Gordon) MacLean, Sugarcamp and Anna MacKinnon at home. Uncle is survived by his 13 nieces and nephews and 13 grandnieces and 7 grandnephews.
Allan was pre-deceased by his parents, Isabell and Stanley MacKinnon; brother, Howard; sisters, June and Ann; brothers-in-law, Regeant Deschenes and Bob Downard and grandniece, Jordan Boudreau.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 21st from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 22 in St David’s United Church, Port Hastings with Sandi Irving officiating. Burial to follow in St. David’s Cemetery, Port Hastings. Masks are optional.
Donations may be made to St. David’s United Church Port Hastings, Port Hastings Volunteer Fire Department or charity of choice. Words of comfort may be sent to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
