Obituary
Peacefully, on August 30, 2023, with family around her, Alla Hatt, in her 91st year left this earth to join her beloved husband, David. A loving mother to daughter Marina (Rick) and son Andrew (Kim). Always a caring grandmother to Sarah (Bryden), Robin (Nicole) and Patrick and doting great grandmother to Maddox and Harper.
Alla had an interesting life being born in Harbin, China on December 28, 1932, where she lived until her family was forced to flee to Hong Kong in December 1948, to escape the Chinese Communists. From there life would take her to Vancouver where she met and married the love of her life, David on February 15, 1959.
Reading was Alla’s passion, and her books were like her children. She knew exactly where each one was in her many bookcases and didn’t like to let them out of her sight.
Alla loved to travel, and she and David toured the world marveling over exotic places like Egypt, Russia and China. She also loved to entertain friends and family and created amazing meals and especially desserts. She leaves us with many happy memories of a life well lived.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown at 2:30 pm., followed by an interment at Meadowvale Cemetery, Mississauga.
As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Ontario SPCA & Humane Society or the Deep River & District Hospital ‘Closer to Home’ Campaign.
