With broken hearts, tears and sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Grandmother, Great- Grandmother and Matriarch on February 25, 2023, at the age of 83. Alice peacefully slipped into eternal rest from the comfort of her home (Fort McMurray, Alberta), surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was born on the South Coast of Newfoundland on October 22, 1939. Alice met and married the love of her life in 1961 in St. George’s, NL. They began their lives together there, raising four children before relocating to Fort McMurray, Alberta, in 1980.
Alice spent the last 42 years devoted to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She became Nan to all children that lived near and around her.
Alice was pre-deceased by her parents Stanley & Mary Morris, and Sisters, Florence and Marie. Her Husband Fred (October 2000), whom she so dearly loved and missed. They are forever reunited and will always be remembered for the gifts of love & kindness bestowed on family, friends and those fortunate to cross their paths. Alice is survived by her children; Connie (Mark), Eric (Melissa), Lisa and Kevin. Grandchildren; Justin, Aaron, Jesse, Riley and Reece. Her Bonus Grandchildren; Justin Casagrande and Victoria Swyer. Her great-grandchildren; Cassidy, Paytin, Teagan and Kian. Her Brother Clayton Morris of Nova Scotia. Forever she will be loved and missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, her remaining nieces and nephews and numerous dear friends.
The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to Dr. Stephen Yam, Alberta Health & Home Care services, for the excellent assistance provided to our family during this journey. To Her dear friends Francis – Thank you for making her laugh; To Cheryl and Brenda for always being there for her and for us; To Teatla – Thank you for the time you made the trips to visit and brighten her days; To Francine and Pat – you were a God Send. Thank you to all who kept her and the family in your thoughts and prayers; your kindness will always be remembered.
Internment and ceremony to take place later. Notifications will proceed. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the cancer foundation.
