Obituary
Peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, at the blessed age of 100 years, in complete assurance of her faith, the Lord called to himself Alice Hulst (nee Knooihuizen) in the presence of her loved ones on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. Predeceased in 2014 by her beloved husband Dirk. She was deeply loved by her children Jacquie and Kor van der Velde and Joanne and Ralph Elzinga. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren and her great grandchildren who she so loved: Alyssa and Ryan, Theodore Bosscher; Samantha and Denver, Haven Komdeur; Caleb van der Velde, Dylan van der Velde and Kaitlyn Kuizenga, Bradley Elzinga. She will also be missed by her loving nieces Helen, Betsie, Marj, and Roelie with whom she immigrated to Canada in 1957, along with their brother Bill and her (predeceased) brother Pieter (Diane). Mom was also predeceased by her siblings Berto (Dien), Jacoba, Emo (Gre) and Koos (Janny). Mom was also a loving aunt to many more nieces and nephews in the Netherlands.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 7-9 p.m. at EBENEZER CANADIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 607 Dynes Rd., Burlington, where the Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Private family Interment at Woodland Cemetery prior to the Service.
