With very heavy hearts we announce that Adele “Addie” has passed away peacefully at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital to join her beloved husband, Richard; her parents, Lena (Deveau) and William DeViller.
Adele was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by 19 siblings.
Adele will be dearly missed by her children, Ruben (Susan), Pinkney’s Point and Charlotte, Yarmouth; her grandchildren, Krista, Angela, Tonya, Ian and Eugette; great-grandchildren, Landon, Beckhem, Carsan, Danica, Kade, Kenzie, Jay, Travis, Morgan and Zackery; great great-grandchildren, Gracey and Ian.
Mom was a devoted Catholic all her life and so looked forward to receiving Holy Communion each week. She was a “stay at home mom” who loved taking care of her family. She made our house a Home. For many years they camped and gathered many friends along the way.
Adele enjoyed the last 3 years at Vancouver Place. We are thankful for the wonderful staff who took very good care of her and she loved the company of her “new family”. We are so fortunate to have seen Mom enjoy her last years, thank you. We would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at the hospital for the excellent care she received.
As per her request there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Saint Ambrose Co-Cathedral Catholic Church, Yarmouth, Father Henry Smolenaars officiating. After the mass Adele will be laid to rest with her husband in St. Raphael’s Cemetery, Pinkney’s Point. Donations may be made to St. Raphael’s Cemetery or a charity of choice.
