Vaughn MINOGUE Obituary
The family of Vaughn Donald Minogue is saddened to announce his sudden passing on May 31, 2024.
Vaughn was born on March 8, 1970 at Eston, SK and grew up on the Minogue homestead at Lacadena, SK. Vaughn attended school in Eston and his favorite pastimes during his school years were motorbike riding with friends, wrestling and goose hunting with his dad. His top preferences at a young age were hauling water and eating fried egg sandwiches with his grandpa Russ, helping at the farm and playing hockey. His determined passion for hockey resulted in his playing with the AAA Midget Legionnaires in Swift Current. After graduation from Eston High School in 1988 Vaughn attended the University of Saskatchewan where he graduated on the Dean’s Honor Roll in 1991 with a Diploma in Agriculture. In 1992 he succeeded in his goal of obtaining a 10-year position with Farm Credit Canada. During those years he commuted from Regina to the farm every weekend to assist his dad with the seasonal farming operations. In 2010 Vaughn and his family received the Century Family Farm Award from the Government of Saskatchewan. Vaughn enjoyed recreational hockey in Eston, downhill skiing, a warm winter holiday, plus boating and water skiing at Clearwater Lake and Saskatchewan Landing Park. He and his dad relished the many fly-in fishing trips to Northern Saskatchewan Lakes and the catches of large fish from Tobin Lake. Vaughn was a kind and thoughtful person always making his family’s best interests a priority. He was devoted to the care of his best buddy, Slater, a healthy 15-year-old feline.
Vaughn is survived by his mother Diane; sister Kelley Minogue and her children Anthony (Payton) Hallborg and great-nephew Weston and Mariah (Brian) Hallborg; cousins Sonya (Earl) Jeninga, Taylor, Natalie & Michael Jeninga, Breanna Jeninga; cousin Stacy (Shannon) Jorgenson & David Kuhn; cousins Rynae (Kelly) Fjeldberg, Justine (Tyler) Bamford, Scarlett & Tanner, Jackson (Carli) Fjeldberg, Brandon Fjeldberg, Tyson & daughter Sydney; cousin Rachelle Jorgenson; aunt Diane (Bill) Holmes & family; uncle Cliff Minogue; cousin Melissa (Kyle) Buckland, Lilyana; cousin Brad (Erica) Minogue; cousin Leanne (Jeff) Dafoe & Kaitlyn; cousin Jamie (Rheanne) Lehmkuhl, Julian & Aurora; aunt Darline Lehmkuhl, cousins Cindy Wilinski & family, Amy (Stuart) Jans & family, Jim (Melissa) Wilinski & family. He was predeceased by his father Donald Minogue, his aunt Marlene Jorgensen and uncle Harley Lehmkuhl.
A Celebration of Life for Vaughn will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Church in Swift Current.
