Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of family after a short stay at Lanark Heights on Friday, December 15, 2023 at the age of 92.
Beloved wife of Dr. Kenneth Davis for 71 years.
Loving mother of Marilyn Beach (Wendell), Sharon Shaw (Robert) and John Davis (Christine).
Dear grandmother of Lori (Tim), Michael (Stephanie), Jeffrey (Haley), Jennifer (Nathan), Stephen, Katherine (Stephen), Elizabeth (Shay), Syd, Makenzie and Natalie.
Great-grandmother of Chase, Parker, Ashton, Lexi, Josiah, Michaela, Judah, Olivia, William, Liberty Grace, Liam, Dawson, Sabrina and Josh.
Predeceased by her sister Ruth Gleason and brother Donald Schulte.
Dorothy devoted her life to serving God in her professional roles as an accomplished concert pianist, choir director, organist, and was an accredited piano instructor and music educator, both privately and at various colleges including Trinity Western University.
She was witty and funny and loved to laugh. She was tender and warm and known to easily shed tears of joy and sorrow. Dorothy loved life passionately and saw the beauty and goodness in almost everything and everyone. She loved gardening, gardens and flowers, especially her roses. Dorothy loved playing games, and watching them, puzzles and needlepoint, going to concerts and listening to all genres of music.
Dorothy had a genuine understanding and empathy to the needs of everyone around her, and fully dedicated her life to helping those in need through a kind word or through her music. She truly loved playing the piano and was an accomplished musician who played to glorify God. She was an encourager of people and used her love of playing to minister to others.
Dorothy loved Ken and her family, deeply, and we all loved her and will miss her! She loved her Lord and she entered Heaven to the most beautiful music she had ever heard. Dorothy loved, and will be loved, endlessly.
Dorothy’s family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, Ontario Canada.
Visitation will continue on Wednesday December 20, 2023 from 12 :00 to 12:45 PM at Benton Street Baptist Church, 90 Benton Street, Kitchener. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 PM at the Church followed by a reception. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed via livestream at www.henrywalser.com/live-streaming or through the Benton Street Baptist Church link visible below.
Private family interment will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery prior to the service.
