It is with great sadness that the family of Norma Ellen (Martin) Watson announce her passing on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Rose Villa in Rosetown, Saskatchewan.
Mom celebrated her 102nd birthday on September 6, 2023. Mom married the love of her life Earl Watson on December 14, 1940. Together they homesteaded on NW-26-24-17 W3. They raised two sons Brian Earl and Robert Bruce. Mom remained on the farm until 2008 when she moved into Elrose. Mom lived in Elrose from 2008 to 2014. In 2014, she moved into McNab Place in Rosetown where she resided until September of 2023. Mom had a short stay in the Rosetown and District Health Centre and became a resident of Rose Villa on September 18, 2023.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Earl, brothers Les and Ray, sisters-in-law Lila Martin, Verna (Watson) Wallace and Eleanor Martin, brother-in-law Roy Wallace and a daughter-in-law Shirley Helgason.
She leaves to mourn her sons Brian (Helen) and Bob (Glenda), grandsons Edward (Lisa), Brendan, Ellis (Kandice), Cameron (Amanda), Tanner (Courtney), Dallen (Amy) and granddaughters Jolene Watson and Kristina (Danny) Lothammer. There are 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
To honour mom’s wishes, there will be a private family service at the Shanidar Chapel with burial at Lacadena Cemetery on October 16, 2023.
