Regena’s Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye to beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Regena Faith Doucette, lovingly known as Ginny. Her passing, on September 8th, 2023, came after a brief stay at Yarmouth Hospital. Born on June 7th, 1948, Ginny experienced numerous challenges all along the span of her life, but she faced each one of them with a determination and resolve that allowed her to get all she could out of her seventy-five years. She was a beautiful soul, who gave far more than she ever took, received, or even asked for. Ginny is survived by her sons Todd (Karen), Dieppe NB and Mark (Stephanie), Yarmouth, grandson Lucas, granddaughter Jessica, step-grandson Lucas Brown, great-granddaughters Kacey and Maya, brothers Randy (Bob), John (Pat), Michael (Becky), sister Jackie (David), many neices and nephews, and her special friend, George Robicheau. She was predeceased by her parents Joe and Lena, brother Joe, and sister Betty.
There are not enough words to express the gratitude the family has for her friends and staff at The Meadows, where Ginnyresided since January 2020. It’s no secret that she lived her best life these last three years, and that’s thanks to the care she received, and the relationships that were developed there.
As per Ginny’s wishes, there will be no viewing or service. Cremation has taken place, and there will be an intimate graveside ceremony for family and close friends at a yet-to-be determined date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
