Obituary of Yvonne Marie McAuley
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvonne Marie McAuley, wife of the late Frank McAuley, which occurred on Monday, April 4, 2022, at Shannex Embassy Hall. Born in Saint John, on February 12, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Anna (Leger) Cormier. Yvonne was the last surviving member of the Cormier family.
Yvonne was employed with the School Board as a custodian for several years until her retirement. She will be remembered as someone who was always smiling, she was the best person to talk to when you needed a listening ear and she always had something good to say about everyone. Yvonne loved listening to music, dancing and a good glass of wine. She and Frank had many adventures together going on trips to Florida, Europe, NY, cruises and spending time on Grand Lake. Yvonne enjoyed the peaceful surroundings of nature when she was tending to her gardens.
Survived by her children; David McAuley (Rebecca) of Quispamsis, Gail Dow of Rothesay, Bonnie Eatman (Mike) of Saint John, and Paul McAuley (Doris) of Cumberland Bay, grandchildren; Jennifer Walsh, Michael McAuley, Hearther Carino, Shawn McAuley, Erin McAuley, and Tyler Eatman, great-grandchildren; Mackenzie, Cassidy, Nicholas and Winnie.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank McAuley; ten siblings; and her special friend, Doug Wear.
Yvonne’s family would like to thank the staff of Shannex Parkland in the Valley, especially those working in Embassy Hall for your care and friendship given to Yvonne. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
In keeping with Yvonne’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Frank. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kennebecasis Community Funeral Home, 152 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis (849-2119).
