Yvon J Maillet
1930-2022
Yvon Maillet, 91, of Bouctouche Bay, passed away peacefully at home
surrounded by his family on Sunday September25, 2022. He was married
to Janita (Richard) Maillet. Born in Saint-Joseph-de-Kent, he was the
son of the late Joseph and the late Dina (Cormier) Maillet.
Yvon was the owner and founder of Maillet Funeral Home, Bouctouche.
He established Maillet Funeral Home on May 1, 1975 and became a
licensed Embalmer and Funeral Director in November of 1977. Prior to
his years in the Funeral Service he was the caretaker for the parish
of Saint-Jean Baptiste, Bouctouche for 18 years. He was also a 4th
degree Knight of Columbus and was also through the years, a member of
the Bouctouche Lions Club, a volunteer fire fighter, a member of the
St. John Ambulance as well as other organizations.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 68 years; Janita, his six
children; Lisette Surette (Adrien) of Saint-Grégoire, Catherine
Allain (Jean-Paul) of Bouctouche Bay, Jacques (Mélisa) of
Mundleville, Luc (Aurella) of Dixon Point, Claire Maillet (Jean-Marc)
of Bouctouche Bay and Desire (Florence) of Cocagne, his sixteen
grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and three great great
grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn his two sisters; Therese
LeBlanc of Moncton, Marie Smith of Riverview, his two brothers; Andre
of Waltham and Albeo (Dorine) of Saint-Joseph-de-Kent as well as
several nephews and nieces.
He was predeceased by three sisters; Rita, Marguerite and Noella as
well as five brothers; Ti-Aurele, Alphonse, Gerard, Aurele, and
Hervé.
Visitations will be held at Maillet Funeral Home, 29 rue de
l’eglise, Bouctouche, on September 29, 2022 from 1:00 to 3:45
pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Saint-Jean Baptiste
Roman Catholic Church, Bouctouche on Thursday September 29, 2022 at
4:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery.
FACE MASkS ARE MANDATORY AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
In Yvon’s memory, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke
Foundation or to the Saint-Jean Baptiste Parish.
