Obituary
Wyndall Sheldon Ian Young (Running Rabbit) was called home suddenly at the age of 28 years old. Wyndall was born on April 23, 1994, in Calgary, AB, and passed away on September 26, 2022, at Siksika Nation. Wyndall is survived by his beloved children, Alzray and Zepplin Running Rabbit, his loving mother, Dora (Richie) Running Rabbit, and his siblings Cameron, Owen, Jack, and Tilson. Wyndell also had an adopted sister, Teshawna (Cory) Running Rabbit, and one adopted Brother Ty Good Eagle. Wyndall leaves behind 2 great uncles, Norman (Liz) Running Rabbit and Family, Robert (Judy) Running Rabbit and Family, and great Aunts Beverley Runner, Flora Whitney, and Grace Young and Family. Also left behind are his Maternal Aunts, Florine (Noran), Caroline, Vivian (Smoke), and Families. Two paternal Wes and Troy Young and Families.
Wyndall had numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and friends. The family acknowledges everyone who loved and took care of Wyndall.
Our Beloved Wyndall came from the extended Family of Running Rabbit, Own Chief, Young, Spring Chief, Three Suns, Duck Chief, and Wright’s. The Family apologizes if we missed anyone – please know you are all in our hearts. Wyndall also spoke of and always mentioned, the love of his life Hazel McMaster.
Wyndall was predeceased by his Father Sheldon Young, Maternal Grandparents, Floyd & Mavis Running Rabbit, Great-Grandparents, Jack & Mary Running Rabbit, adopted Aunty Shawn Own Chief, and two nephews Zhaine & Pierson Running Rabbit. His Paternal Grandparents were John and Connie Young, Great-Grandparents, Jimmy & Louise Young, and an aunt Bright Star Young.
Wyndall was a born survivor, who loved his Mother immensely and loved his children. Wyndall also loved to read and listen to his music. Wyndall can be remembered for listing to his favorite song, “Joy of My Life” by John Fogerty. Wyndall will also be missed for his comical ways.
The Family of Wyndall would like to send out a huge Thank you to Siksika EMS, Gleichen R.C.M. P., Siksika Fire & Rescue, Siksika Shelter Staff, and those who assisted in giving efforts to try and save our beloved Wyndall.
We would also like to acknowledge everyone who supported us with prayers, thoughts, and people who donated food and money. Everyone’s input was appreciated.
