July 12, 1940 – October 11, 2022
Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Grandview Lodge, Dunnville.
Although heart-breaking, we know mom is reunited with her dad Martin and her mom Ethel, and her eldest brother Wesley. Doretta is survived by her husband Larry Sr., brothers Bill and Patsy, Barry (Betty Anne) and sister Eunice, sister-in-law Sylvia and predeceased by brother Wesley. Doretta is also survived by her four (4) children, Tracey and Tom Reynolds, Larry Jr. (Lauren), Angela (Bret), and Ennis and Shelby (Dayboll). Doretta was a loving grandmother to eight (8) grandchildren, Ian, Ryan, Adrienne, Lauren, Evan, Heather, Dakota and Hunter, and to 5 great grandchildren, Leah, Isaac, Freya, Theo, and Archer. Doretta is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
For those that knew our mother, Doretta was the kindest and most loving soul. She faced many battles in life, was courageous through all of them, and never lost her inner strength and faith. Her wit and Baago dry sense of humour always made us laugh and marvel at this beautiful angel sent from heaven. We were so lucky to have such an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. Recently, when asked “Do you believe in heaven, mom?”, she responded, “of course, where do you think love comes from?”. Mom, we know where you are, you will be with us all every day, we love you so much.
Finally, we would like to thank Grandview Lodge for all their wonderful care. Cremation has taken place. The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
