Winston Kenneth Samuel Mick
Passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, on Tuesday July 5, 2022 at the age of 81 years.
Winston Mick of Pembroke, beloved husband of Sandra Mick (nee Harrison). Loved and cherished father of Scott (Dr. Anthony Mak), Mississauga and Christopher (Kelly Butler), Chelsea PQ. Loving grandfather to Saffron, India, Kelby and Pippa.
Winston will be sadly missed by his sisters Marilyn Steege (late Raymond) Pembroke, Patricia (Ken Bettes), St. Catharines, Judith Russell, Ottawa and brother Henry Mick (Elizabeth), London. Predeceased by brother Wayne Mick (Marion), 1992 and an infant baby girl. Brother- in-law to Harold Harrison(Delanah), Ottawa, Lois Wood(late Charles), Stittsville, and he will be missed by many special nieces and nephews.
Winston’s contributions to our community were many. He was a teacher and principal for 36 years with the Renfrew County Board of Education, longtime member of Calvin United Church, Chair of the Board of Elders and choir member, member of the Pembroke Kinsmen Club, on the Board of Mortgage and Housing and Past President of St. Joseph’s Food Bank. Winston loved sports, cheering on the Micksburg Twins ball team, the Pembroke Lumber Kings and enjoyed hockey, playing golf and downhill skiing.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Winston with his family during visitation at Calvin United Church 276 Church Street, Pembroke, on Wednesday July 13th from 9:30 a.m. until time of Service in the Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment Micksburg United Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Calvin United Church or St. Joseph’s Food Bank, in memory of Winston,would be appreciated.
