Wilma Eva Zeggil (nee Chipchase) born July 18, 1942, died March 29, 2022.
Wilma was born in Shelburne to parents Wilmot & Mary Chipchase (deceased). Raised on the family farm near Dunedin, attended Madill’s Public School, Collingwood High School and Canada Business College, Toronto. She leaves her husband Roger to mourn her passing. They were married 60 years ago at Glen Huron United Church. She was a loving & caring mother to sons Paul (MaryBeth), Brian (Christine), Kevin (Michelle) & grandmother to Stephen (Kelsi), Samuel, Maxwell, Dylan & Charlotte, & great grandmother to Rylan. Survived by siblings Alice Redpath (Alf), Ruth Webster (George), & John Chipchase (Jane). She will be missed by many friends & neighbors at Huron Meadows, where she & Roger lived the past five years.
Wilma was one of a kind & a friend to all. She loved to bake and play cards, namely bid euchre, bridge and golf. She worked hard as a homemaker, at Devil’s Glen Country Club, Ellis Pharmacy &Towers. Wilma served her community as treasurer of St. Paul’s Anglican Church for 20 years. A member of ACW, Women’s Institute, & Ladies Guild. A member of Stayner Eastern Star, serving a term as Worthy Matron & was Star Point Martha for many years. A member of Bokhara Court Ladies Oriental Shrine of Toronto, & served as president of Salaam Club Ladies Shrine, Collingwood. Destinations included the U.K., Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, Bermuda, the Caribbean & Canada, coast to coast. Winters were spent in Portugal, Arizona & Florida. Wilma proudly took solo trips to Hong Kong & Australia to meet Roger when his contracts ended in China & Adelaide. Wilma spent her life raising a family, working, & supporting her church & many charities. Sadly, she lost her battle with cancer & is now at rest.
A private family service will be held at Fawcett Funeral Home, Creemore. Internment at Singhampton Cemetery at a later date.
