William Bruce “Bill” Randall
William Bruce
“Bill” Randall – age 76, of Kentville,
passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born on August 4, 1946 in Kentville, he was a son
of the late Edward and Annie (Rafuse) Randall. Bill had been employed
with the Acadia University Physical Plant and then left to own and
operate Upper Dyke Gas and Convenience with his son, Shawn. He was
involved in sports all his life, coaching many Kentville minor hockey
and baseball teams. He and his wife, Marilyn, enjoyed road trips on
his Goldwing and later camping in Digby every summer. He is survived
by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn (Sellars) Randall; daughter, Shelley
Hopkins, Coldbrook; sons, Chris, Kentville, and Shawn, New Minas;
grandsons, Alex and Matthew Hopkins; sisters, Marilyn Henderson and
Fay Walsh; brother, Fred and brother-in-law, Dale Sellars. Besides his
parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Edward Jr. and Garry; and
sister, Greta Simpson. A special thank you to EHS and Valley Regional
Emergency Department nurses for their care. Cremation has taken place
and there will be no visitation, by request. A graveside service will
be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022 in the Elm Grove
Cemetery, Steam Mill, Greg White officiating. Family flowers only, by
request. Donations in memory may be made to The Beave Fund (supporting
youth in Kentville Minor Baseball) or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral
Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
