William ‘Billy’ Caldwell
1953-2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of
William “Billy” Kenneth Caldwell at Glen Haven Manor
on Friday January 7th, 2022. We would like to thank Velma Hancock for
taking care of Billy for many years while he was ill and thank you to
the staff at Glen Haven Manor for taking such great care of him in his
final days.
Billy is survived by his wife, Kathy; brothers: Tom
(Shirley), Abercrombie; Grant (Anne), New Glasgow; his sons: Dale
(Tasha), Alberta; Clarence (Bobby), Halifax; daughters: Kelly (Mike),
Halifax, Debra, Linacy; grandchildren: Jessica (Kevin), Halifax; Will
(Jenna), New Brunswick; Ethan (Tyler), Yarmouth; Alanah (James),
Halifax; Alex and Rachel, Alberta; and Clinton, Linacy. He was
predeceased by his father, Tom, mother, Glady, and sister,
Mary-Lou.
Billy worked hard all his life to provide for his family, but
there was no job or volunteer work he did that he was prouder of than
being the Fire Chief for the Pictou Landing Fire Department. Billy
loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and
great grandchildren. He always welcomed drop in visitors with a triple
triple or Pizza Delight. Before Billy got sick he loved dancing with
his wife, having a few, and playing a semi-friendly game of cards with
his friends and family. Billy will be missed by all that knew him but
we are grateful that he is now at peace.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Hope for
Wildlife or the Pictou Landing Fire Department. Arrangements are under
the direction of R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New
Glasgow.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of William ‘Billy’ Caldwell 19532022..
