Obituary
William Alfred Dennis
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of William (Bill) Alfred Dennis on Wednesday August 3, 2022. Bill was 94 years old and predeceased by his son Mark (2005). He passed peacefully at home with his beloved wife, Grace (nee Ormesher) by his side. Bill and Grace would have celebrated 75 years of marriage next year. Together they are immensely proud of the strong and loving family they have built. Bill is the proud father of Patricia, Paul (Lynn), Marie, Michael (Julie), Gerry (Amelia), Cathie, Peter (Sarah), Mark (deceased
2005, Filomena) and Terry (Shelley).
Bill was also an immensely proud Papa to his 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren: Angie (Rob) and children Sam, Emily and Ben, Michael (Marie), children Will and Graham, Matthew (Carrie), children Emma and Henry, Chris (Melissa), children Luke and Ryan, Stephen
(Sarah), children Olivia and Harry, Sean, children Charlie and Teddy, and Kelly Millar, Jennifer, Adam (Caitlin), children Clara, Will and Ellie, Andrew, Sarah (Brent), children AJ and Sophie, Robin (Sourena), children Azar and Zal, Scott, Beth, Brad, Mitch, Zack, Kate, Meg and
Justin.
Bill has a vast network of nieces and nephews and there are no words to describe what he meant to so many. He lived life to the fullest, always putting everyone else ahead of him. His tremendous sense of humour was only matched by his infinite gift of compassion.
Bill was a proud graduate (1948) of St. Michael’s High School and played the tuba in the school band and earned extra money as a model for the Eatons’ catalogue. Bill had a 40-year+ career with Imperial Oil beginning in the mail room and working his way through the organization and retiring as a senior financial executive. His dedication and work ethic was a lesson for us all; at the age of 40, he enrolled in a 5-year night school accounting program so he could further his career. We are all still in awe of him successfully accomplishing this with 9 children, all of whom were involved in many extracurricular activities. He was always there for our family.
He will be forever missed and each of us carries a bit of his personality with us.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the care he received from his Physicians and the Caregivers at Amica Erin Mills.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home Oakville.
