Emo, Wendy Denice (nee Mashinter)
It’s with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Wendy Emo, on Sunday January 23, 2022 at home with her loving family around her, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, John, dear mother to Russell (Lena), Heather(Kevin), cherished grandmother to, Erin (Zenan), Sean, Kaitlyn (Jared), Brittney (Ryan), Tyler (Leanne),Joshua, Rachel & Jacob and adored GG to Lillian, Elliott, Cormac & Furi.
Born and raised in Malton to the late John and Lillian Mashinter, and predeceased by her brothers, Roderick, Wayne, and sister Gail. She will be greatly missed by many of her life long friends, and John Bloomfield, whom she thought of as a son. She will be remembered for her crazy sense of humour, her fiesty attitude, fun loving personality, quick wit, her love of music and Tim Hortons coffee. Wendy lived for her children, cherished her grandchildren and adored her great-grandchildren. She cherished the memories of travelling extensively all over the world visiting 5 continents with her husband and grandchildren, and spending the winter months in their Florida home. She also enjoyed traveling to dance competitions in Canada and the USA, where she took on the role of everyone’s Grandma. Wendy will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 7:00 – 9:00 pm. (RSVP IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND VISITATION – FULL PROOF OF VACCINATION IS REQUIRED)
Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:00 am. (RSVP IS REQUIRED TO ATTED – FULL PROOF OF VACCINATION IS REQUIRED) (WEBCAST OF FUNERAL WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AT 11:00 AM.)
Memorial donations to Sick Kids Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Wendy in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
