MACLEAN, Charles, “Wayne” – It is with great sadness that I announce my beloved husband Wayne lost his battle with lung cancer after only being diagnosed on December 19th, 2022. Wayne entered into eternal rest at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022, in his 78th year. Loving son of the late John and Veronica MacLean. Beloved husband to Grant Carman. Remembered by his sister Gwen Colbourne and nieces Alisha and Sabrina Colbourne. Loved and remembered by Grant’s close family, sister Catherine Martin (nee Carman) and brother-in-law Jeff, sister Mary Carman and brother-in-law Bill Leslie, niece’s Erin Kasparek, Taylor Byers, and nephew Brock Millican. Predeceased by his brother Gerald MacLean.
Wayne was born December 14th, 1944, in Middleton Nova Scotia, and was raised in the Halifax/Dartmouth area. He moved to Toronto in the early 1960’s and made Toronto his home. For those of you who didn’t know, Wayne and Grant dated for 3 days, and then Grant moved in with him. Wayne and Grant had 43 years, 6 months and 17 days of love and kindness together and finally married this past January 15th.
At Wayne’s request, there will be no visitation and no service. He has decided to be cremated, and his ashes will be interred later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Quinte or the TMH Foundation would be appreciated by the family. A special thanks goes to the incredible care from the Doctors and Nurses at Kingston General Hospital, Home Care South East Ontario, his visiting nurse Monique, and for the past 2 days, the Doctors and nurses at Trenton Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are entrusted to the RUSHNELL FUNERAL HOME 60 Division St., Trenton (613-392-2111). To leave a condolence for Grant and the family, please visit www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
