Obituary of Wayne Douglas Barnes
Barnes: Wayne “Barney”, a resident of Chatham, passed away suddenly doing what he loved golfing, on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at the age 72. Born in Chatham, son of the late Garnet and Beulah (Wallace) Barnes. Wayne worked for over 30 years at the LCBO, he loved to golf at many of the area courses. Loving partner for 22 years to Verda Read. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Shirley Anderson, Joan Carr , Hans Eberhard, and Lee Barnes. Dear friend of Peter Bauer. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and friends. Predeceased by a sister Ruth Eberhard, a brother Ken Barnes, and brothers-in-law Doug Anderson and Ralph Carr. Wayne’s family will remember him privately. Cremation will take place. If desired donations to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the John C. Badder Funeral Home, Thamesville.
