Torresin, Walter (Valter) Romeo
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our precious, loving, father, nonno, bisnonno & husband, Valter Torresin at the age of 89.
Loving husband of 63 years to Rosetta, adored father to Doris (Mauro) Carbone, Brenda (John) Scozzari. Exceptional nonno to Vince (Victoria), Jaclyn (Justin), Gianni & Sofia. Blessed bisnonno to Alesso & Benino. Dearest brother and brother-in-law to late Zita (late Angelo), late Gerardo (late Gina), late Clemente (Assunta), late Alberto (Elide), late Teresina (late Luigi), late Antonillia (late Valentino), late Antonio (Regina), late Assunta (late Giovanni). Special brother-in-law to late Leandro (late Emilia) Bertolo, Verginio & Maria Bortolotto, Fidelma & late Mario Marin. He leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins & dear friends in Canada and Italy.
Valter was born in San Marco di Resana, Treviso, Italy & came to Canada in 1956. He was a dedicated steelworker for 41 years. He loved gardening, singing, watching sports-especially Italian football-his vino and admiring his “rondine.” He was an avid bocce player & loyal member of the St. Anthony Church choir for decades. In his retirement, he enjoyed many years in Florida with his loving wife Rosetta.
Valter was a humble man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures & lived for his family. To know him is to love him. We have been truly blessed to have had this angel on earth to guide us through life.

Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Thursday, January 6. 2022 from 3-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 165 Prospect Street, Hamilton on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 10:00 am. Entombment Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation is greatly appreciated.
