Obituary
Walter’s family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather at the age of 90. Walter passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at the Edson Healthcare Centre.
Walter was born in Iron River, the eldest son of Jeffim and Epistimia Tkachuk. He started life as a farmer but as a young man moved from the farm to become a tree faller for the Hinton Pulp Mill. He cut trees in the bush for close to forty years. It was a good life for him as he loved being outside. Camping and fishing was how he loved to spend his spare time. As he grew older, he enjoyed just sitting outside and watching the birds.
Walter loved his family. He taught all his children not only to love the outdoors but also to be hardworking and honest. The family was fortunate to have had many happy gatherings.
Walter was predeceased by his parents, Jeffim and Epistimia Tkachuk, his sister, Fanny Wojcik, sister Pauline Fedchuk and brother Paul.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred, sons Gerald (Leah Ann), Mitchell and Warren, his daughter Kim Marcinek (David), grandchildren Mackenzie, Brett, Shayne, and Becky, great grandchildren Kylie and Skyler, as well as his brother Philip and sister Katie Haresem.
Walter’s funeral will be held at the Baptist Church in Edson on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at 11:00 am.
The family would like to thank Dr. Odendahl and the staff of Edson Health Centre for their dedicated care of Walter.
You will be missed deeply and live forever in our hearts.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Walter Tkachuk March 4 1932 November 8 2022 (age 90)..
