Wade Baker
1953-2021
Following a courageous battle with cancer, Wade Joseph Baker of New
Denmark, NB, passed away peacefully at his home on December 26,
2021.
Wade was born in Perth-Andover, NB, on March 28, 1953. He was the son
of the late Cecil and Una (Cormier) Baker. Wade leaves behind his
loving wife, Shelley Baker (Jensen); his children, Tara and her
children, Parker and Hayden Lavoie, Nicole Baker (Ethan Ouellette) of
New Denmark, NB; his step-children, John Palk (Candace) of Edmonton,
AB, Sarah Ouellette (Ally) of Rothesay, NB; his step-grandchildren,
Victor, Seth, Nathaniel, Isaiah, Jakob, Ethan, Lukas, Hanna, Reese,
and Brooke; his sisters, Linda Fairley (Winston) of Carlingford, NB,
and Marcia Parker (Everett) of Riverbank, NB.
Wade was predeceased by his parents and his son, Nicholas Baker.
Wade graduated from SVHS in 1971, then attended the NB Forestry School
in Fredericton. He worked until retirement as an employee of
Fraser/Nexfor/ Twin Rivers Mill in Plaster Rock where he became
Woodlands Manager. As a young boy growing up on a farm, he always
enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and later hunting. As life went on, he
enjoyed four-wheeling and snowmobiling. After retirement, he enjoyed
travelling in his RV all across Canada and the United States with
Shelley by his side.
Resting at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in New Denmark, NB, with
visitation on Saturday from 1-3 pm. A memorial service celebrating
Wade’s life will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Saturday,
May 7, 2022 at 3 pm. Pastor Jonah Bruce officiating. Interment will
follow in the adjoining cemetery.
For those who wish, memorial donations to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church
or Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Wade’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr.
Allison Kennedy and the Extra-Mural personnel for the care given to
him in his final days.
