DOUCETTE, Vivian Marguerite – age 88, The Meadows Home for Special Care, Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at The Meadows. Born July 8, 1932 in Marysville (Fredericton), NB, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Josephine (LaPointe) Owens. Vivian was a retired telephone operator, having worked for Bell and MT&T. She was a member of the Yarmouth Garden Club and the Telephone Pioneers. Vivian loved working outdoors, especially in her flower gardens, and she also enjoyed putting her carpentry skills to practice. She also enjoyed reading and cooking, and is fondly remembered as being kind and gracious to everyone. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth (late Fred) Doucette, Kimberly (Byron) Park and Rachel Doucette, as well as by step-children, Anne (Michael) Finley and Jon Doucette. She also raised her step-grandson, Jamie, and was a grandmother to Leo, Alexander, Samuel, Benjamin, Abigail, John Owen and Clara; great grandmother to Lincoln and Everlee Rose, as well as to several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers, Bartley Owens and David Owens and by a sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Owens, along with many nieces and nephews. Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George Robert Doucette, as well as by step-children, Jan Bearance and Robert Doucette, by her sister, Carrie, and by brothers, Patrick and Robert “Bobby”. A service for Vivian will take place on Wednesday, September 14th at 10:30 a.m., from St. Ambrose Co-Cathedral, Yarmouth, interment to follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Yarmouth. Memorial donations may be made to The Meadows Home for Special Care (Recreation Fund). Arrangements have been entrusted to H.M.
