Irene was a huge Bingo lover. Whenever and wherever she could play bingo, she would. She also enjoyed knitting, especially her knitted socks at Christmas. Her hobbies also included playing cards, her computer games, and you could always find a jigsaw puzzle on her dining room table.
She drove taxi and dispatched for many years in Saint John. When she moved back to Blacks Harbour she really enjoyed working at her brother’s store. She knew everyone by name who came in the store, and if she didn’t know you, you got the name Boo. She especially enjoyed it when her Grandchildren came to the store. She put them to work, and they all loved it.
A couple of her lifelong dreams were to visit Florida and the Rocky Mountains. Within the last few years, she accomplished both of these dreams. Accompanied by her entire family, she was able to see Florida, visit Disney World and Sea World. Within the last few years, she visited the Rocky Mountains with her son Steven and his family. This was a true highlight of her life.
