Obituary
Vi passed away peacefully in Salmon Arm, BC on Wednesday, July 27, 2022. She was born in Didsbury, AB on July 20, 1942. She will always be loved and forever missed by her loving children Pam (Brent) Chudiak, Theresa Dussault, Coral Leigh (Russ) Stubbs and Allan (Kari) Balfour as well as 13 grandchildren and 13.75 great-grandchildren. Vi also leaves to mourn her Mom Luella Martin at the age of 102, brothers and sisters Carol (Carlyle) Tauber, Sharon (Norm) Fitzsimonds, Lynne Beer, Lorne (Darlene) Martin, Larry (Karen) Martin, Connie (Rick) Burnstad, Debbie (Ian) McIntyre, Dale (Linda) Martin, Val (Darrell) Sware and Suzanne Dearman as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Vi was in the hospitality industry for many years from being a waitress, cook, hotel owner and working with seniors. She loved helping others and sharing her famous cinnamon buns for everyone. Vi enjoyed sitting around the bon fire with family and friends, listening to the birds, watching the hummingbirds and going for scenic drives. Vi’s other main loves were reading, darts, crib, pool, bingo and ten pin bowling. Vi married Cec in Olds, AB and they were married 57 years until Cec passed away in 2017.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Montgomery, Dr. McKeough, Dr. Gilbank, Dr. Kambo and the nurses Sarah and Greg.
A private family gathering will be held in the fall of 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Shuswap Lake General Hospital.
